Bride Getting Ready
It was the most perfect summer day for Sarah and Kyle’s wedding at the Newport Marriott. The bride actually works for Marriott, so she got HOOKED UP with a huge suite to get ready in. It even had a large balcony overlooking the water!
Groom Getting Ready
Meanwhile, the groom and groomsmen were hanging out downstairs in the lobby at the Newport Marriott. We decided to grab a few portraits before heading outside for the first look. There might have also been a Miley Cyrus Wrecking Ball reenactment with those fun ropes hanging from the ceiling!
Wedding First Look in Downtown Newport, RI
Just across the street from the Newport Marriott is a pedestrian walkway that is the perfect place for a wedding first look! It has beautiful views over Newport Harbor. We decided not to do the typical “tap on the shoulder” first look. Instead, the bride got into a place about 10 feet away from the groom. That way, when he turned he would see the whole picture. Well, Sarah got into place, but what seemed like 5 minutes went by and Kyle still hadn’t turned. I can’t remember if someone finally told him to turn, but when he did he had the best reaction to seeing his bride for the first time.

After the wedding’s first look, we knocked out all of their group formals along the water and on the stairs leading up to the Newport Marriott.

Then it was time for the wedding ceremony, which took place in the atrium at the Newport Marriott.

The wedding reception followed in the Newport Marriott ballroom! The bride and groom had a wonderfully choreographed first dance.
Later on, there were hilarious speeches and more laughs during the cake-cutting. We even snuck out to one of the balconies on the top floor of the Newport Marriott for sunset wedding portraits.
And then things got pretty wild on the dance floor! A great time was had by all. Congrats Sarah and Kyle!
