Provincetown Inn Wedding
There’s something special about Provincetown Weddings that makes me love my job as a professional wedding photographer. The whole town is so vibrant and friendly. It’s hard not to have a good time when you’re there! I was honored when family friends hired me to be the wedding photographer at their Provincetown Inn Wedding. The groom “Big Wave Dave” is a local surfing legend from nearby Wellfleet. This is where he met the bride Kat, who has been summering there with her family forever. Which is also where her family met mine! They have shared so many good times in Wellfleet and Ptown. This wedding was guaranteed to be another one of them!
Wedding Prep in Ptown
The wedding day arrived and the weather could not have been more perfect. The bride started the day with breakfast, hair, and makeup at the West End Salon and Spa. It is right on Commercial Street in downtown PTown. Afterward, the girls hopped down to the beach behind the salon to pop some champagne. Then we headed back to the Provincetown Inn to finish getting ready for the wedding.
First Look
The suite the bride was getting ready in for her Provincetown Wedding had a large deck area outside with views over the tidal marsh. The groom was on the other side looking towards the Pilgrim Monument. When they both were ready, he came over and waited out on the deck for their first look. She came out, looking absolutely stunning. It was a bit of a shock for the bathing suit-clad guests who happened to be passing by though!
Wedding Photography in Provincetown
After the first look, the bride walked out onto the West End Breakwater for a few wedding portraits. Then we headed over to Herring Cove Beach in Provincetown for wedding formals. On the way back we stopped at a spot with gorgeous views overlooking the marsh and the Woods End Lighthouse.
Wedding Ceremony at Provincetown Inn
Guests were starting to arrive for the oceanside wedding ceremony on the lawn at the Provincetown Inn. I still can’t believe how perfect the weather was. There were NO clouds and a nice breeze to keep things cool. Kat and her dad George made quite the entrance. It was all smiles and laughter from then on throughout the wedding ceremony. After the ceremony, the couple and I snuck off to the breakwater for some golden-hour wedding photos.
Provincetown Inn Wedding Reception
After photos, we rejoined cocktail hour on the lawn before the wedding reception in the Provincetown Inn ballroom. The reception immediately turned into a crazy dance party, although they did break for speeches, dinner, and to cut their surf-themed wedding cake! After dinner, there was lots more dancing and even a full reggae set. The reception ended with sparklers and the couple riding off into the night (to the afterparty in Provincetown) on a pedicab.
