Lakes Region New Hampshire Wedding
I decided to try something new for Kelly and Justin’s Lakes Region New Hampshire wedding. Usually I deliver all of the photos en-masse when they are ready and hope that the couple will sit down and look at them together. This time I put together a special slideshow of my favorite moments from their wedding and we scheduled a time for them to watch it together. Right afterwards they will get their full wedding gallery. My hope is that they can spend a few minutes together reliving the magic of their wedding day. Because it was pretty amazing…
Getting Ready at Merrymeeting Lake
The location for this Lakes Region NH wedding is one of special significance. Both the bride and groom’s families (and several extended family members) have homes on Merrymeeting Lake – a smaller lake just to the southeast of Lake Winnipesaukee in New Durham, NH. It has been the backdrop for their many year relationship. Just as it was the backdrop for Kelly to get ready at her family’s lake house.
Meanwhile across the lake, Justin was busy getting the ceremony and getaway boat ready. And then himself ready.
Wedding Ceremony on Merrymeeting Lake, New Durham NH
We made the trip over to the ceremony site by car where the bride put on her veil and shared a special moment with her dog before the wedding started.
Then it was time for her father to walk her down the Cinderella staircase to meet her groom on the dock where they would say I do! Their dog Penny, the flower dog, even expressed her enthusiasm with barks a few times during the ceremony!
Wedding Portraits on Merrymeeting Lake
I’m sure there are many beautiful locations in the Lakes Region of NH to take wedding portraits, but this is the place that had the most significance for Kelly and Justin. They took some bridal portraits on the dock with their dog Penny before they took off in the getaway boat that proclaimed “Just Married”.
Wedding Reception at The Barn at Pickering House in Wolfeboro, NH
We headed a bit further north in the Lakes Region to Wolfeboro, NH for the wedding reception at The Barn at Pickering House. It cooled off a little for the cocktail hour and there was beautiful light for some more portraits. Wolfeboro is the oldest summer resort in America, so we thought it fitting for an old-timey photo of the bridal party on the front porch.
Then Kelly and Justin made an epic intro into their wedding reception with a dirty dancing reenactment!
It got quite the reaction from the crowd, as did their choreographed wedding dance later in the evening. I had a hard time narrowing down the photos to post as there were so many great moments! There were several great speeches, dances with parents, a special dance between the groom and his grandmother, and even a brother/sister performance of Toto’s Africa. The reception ended with a grand sparkler exit, although I heard it really ended with a jump in the lake later in the evening!
Congrats Kelly and Justin!
