Mount Hope Farm Weddings
Mount Hope Farm is a gorgeous country estate in Bristol, RI and a perfect wedding location! As you first drive through the gates and onto the grounds you see the historic inn, gardens and barn. Keep going another mile down the road and you’ll pass through woodlands and by a lovely pond. Finally, when the road ends, you’ll be at the Cove Cabin with it’s lawn, beach and expansive water views.
Mt. Hope Farm Barn
The two reception options for Mount Hope Farm Weddings are the barn or the Cove Cabin area. The historic 19th century barn is perfect for a smaller wedding in any season. The authentic wood interior perfectly complements a rustic barn wedding. The large barn doors can be opened to look out over the landscape beyond. Just across the street are beautiful gardens, a great spot for a garden wedding ceremony.
Cove Cabin
For larger outdoor weddings, the Cove Cabin area is an excellent choice. The adjacent lawn with its large tree and views of Mt. Hope Bay and bridge is great for outdoor wedding ceremonies. There is plenty of room for a large tented wedding reception. The Adirondack style log cabin with its deck area is great for cocktail hours.
Morins Catering and Events runs Mount Hope Farm weddings. They are known for being one of the best catering companies in Rhode Island.
Portrait Locations
One of the best aspects of a Mount Hope Farm wedding are the myriad of photo locations on-site.
Garden
I like the garden area for first look and family photos. There is plenty of shade and cover from the mature trees, which is nice on a hot sunny day. Also within a short work, we can get lots of different backgrounds for wedding portraits. There is the barn, stone walls, fields, forest areas, and the pond a bit further down the road.
Beach
Mount Hope Farm Cove Cabin weddings also have access to lots of photo locations. The light inside the cabin is exquisite for bride or groom portraits, or even small groups. I like the shaded forest area to the left of the cabin for midday group photos. The beach area with it’s views of the Mount Hope Bridge is a must visit location for couple portraits. Then, as it get’s closer to sunset time, the deck area behind the cabin is perfect for any type of photo.
Check out how my clients used all of these areas for their Indian Fusion wedding.
Industry Insider Tips
Rooms in the Gov. Bradford House and the smaller pasture houses can be rented. The larger house makes a great spot for the bride to get ready in, and the pasture house is good for the groom.
Also, Mount Hope Farm faces East but still enjoys beautiful sunsets (especially when there are clouds in the sky). It’s a great idea to plan to sneak out of the reception for a few minutes for sunset photo!
The farm is in Bristol, RI which is known for its Fourth of July celebration. They throw a big parade, fireworks and the street is painted red white and blue. They even light up the bridge in lit red, white and blue at night. See how one of my couples took advantage of this for their Fourth of July Wedding at Mount Hope Farm.
