Watch Hill Engagement Photos in Westerly, RI
I’ve wanted to do engagement photos in Watch Hill for YEARS now. Everyone always picks Newport for their Rhode Island engagement session location. I can’t blame them, Newport is fabulous. But the little coastal village of Watch Hill in Westerly, RI has tons to offer for engagement photos too! It is the location of the beautiful Ocean House Hotel. It’s also where Taylor Swift owns a mansion right on East Beach. What I love most are the little beach rose lined pathways down to the beach.
I finally got my chance a few weeks ago when Mirinie and Andre chose Watch Hill for their engagement photos. We met up and took a stroll past the Ocean House. Within seconds they were giggling and flashing each other some killer smiles. I didn’t even have to tell corny jokes!
It was quite hot, but there was a nice breeze coming from the water. So we beelined for the pathway down to East Beach. The pathway is overgrown with beach roses. You can see just a tiny slice of beach as you walk down. The perfect spot for some romantic engagement photos!
After stopping about 100 times along the way, we finally made it down to the beach. It was pretty crowded in front of the Ocean House. So instead we went down to the little section of beach in front of Taylor Swift’s mansion. They played in the water and walked the beach with the Watch Hill Lighthouse off in the distance. I just love when couples have fun and forget I’m there during their engagement photo sessions.
Then we moved up to the rock wall for some snuggles. The wind was doing amazing things for Mirinie’s hair.
I was able to get a shot of them with the Ocean House and no people.
We finished up this Watch Hill engagement session with some laughs. I’d have to say that Mirinie and Andre completely nailed their engagement session. I can’t wait to see what we come up with at their Harkness Park wedding in September!
