Elegant Goat Island Wedding
I’m so excited to share some of my wedding photography from Tori and Brian’s elegant wedding at Belle Mer on Goat Island in Newport, RI. You might remember them from their engagement session on Cliff Walk earlier in the year. But first, take a gander at the wedding slideshow I made them…
Bridal Prep
The bride was already mostly ready when we started wedding photography. She hung out with her crew in the Grace Suite until it was time to put on the dress and veil. Once the bride was ready, she looked out the window at her seaside ceremony being set up, with sailboats and the Newport Bridge in the background.
Meanwhile, across the hall, the groom was getting suited up and having a drink before the ceremony started. Later on he stepped outside for a few groom portraits in front of a beautiful ivy-covered wall.
Elegant Wedding Ceremony on Goat Island
The wedding ceremony took place just before sunset. Goat Island is a beautiful spot for wedding ceremony photography! The bride’s brother walked her down a flower petal-strewn aisle. The bride and groom exchanged handwritten vows. Once they were pronounced man and white they exited to a blast of confetti canons.
Sunset Wedding Photos
After the wedding ceremony, we went right into formal photos. The sun was just going down providing a gorgeous backdrop for bridal portraits.
The sunset continued to deepen in color as the lights on the Newport bridge came up and guests made their way from the lawn inside for the reception.
Elegant Wedding Reception
The wedding reception took place in the Water Salon. The Maid of Honor and Best Men gave hilarious speeches, the couple shared a special first dance and a funny cake cutting.
After dinner, there was lots of dancing, and guests took breaks outside by the bonfire.
The band Narragansett Soul played all night, but it wasn’t until the late-night hours that the guests really got the party going…
