Newport RI Engagement Photos
My clients Victoria and Brian were in Newport, RI last weekend for their wedding tasting at Belle Mer so we decided to fit their engagement photos in on Sunday. The weather here in late March is variable, but they lucked out with a weekend where the temps were in the 60s! But of course, Sunday rolled around and rain was forecasted for the entire afternoon so we decided to try and get the session done in the morning before the rain started.
Ochre Court Engagement Photos
We started the engagement photos at Ochre Court, a mansion that is a quintessential Newport RI backdrop. It was the perfect complement to their formal attire. The wind decided to help us out, blowing Tori’s hair in the perfect direction!
Cliff Walk Engagement Photos
Then we walked down and did a few photos along Cliff Walk. I have to admit, Cliff Walk is not the easiest place in Newport RI to do engagement photos. There are always people and dogs walking by, it’s usually windy, and it can be tough to find vantage points that have visual interest in addition to just the ocean. I absolutely love the old stone tunnels, and the spikey stone walls, so I always try to incorporate those elements.
Castle Hill Lighthouse Engagement Photos
To finish up the session, we headed over to Castle Hill Lighthouse on the grounds of the Castle Hill Inn. Heavy clouds rolled in by the time we got there, providing a very windblown and dramatic look. It was a great morning, I’m so looking forward to seeing these two get hitched at Belle Mer in September!
This spot is actually where some couples elect to have their wedding ceremonies at Castle Hill Inn. How gorgeous is that?!
I loved the way the wind was blowing Tori’s hair and her dress. It was a beautiful end to this Newport RI engagement photo session! To see more of my engagement photography portfolio click here, or contact me to find out more about my photography services.
