Tented Wedding in Newport
As a professional wedding photographer, I get to shoot at gorgeous wedding venues all around Newport, RI, and have had the pleasure of working at Castle Hill Inn several times. Right when this couple booked their October tented wedding in Newport, I knew it would be an amazing wedding.
Wedding Prep
The day of Whitney and David’s wedding was a sunny and crisp October day. The vibe was lowkey but exquisitely elegant. The girls had fun getting ready in the bridal suite while the bride’s father waited downstairs. Whitney walked down the stairs once she was dressed and caught a glimpse of him through a window. It was a touching moment, seeing her excited reaction. The mother of the bride and a few other family members then joined them for a Shabbat dinner ceremony.
Jewish Wedding Ceremony
The Jewish ceremony took place outside under the pergola with the water and the Newport Pell Bridge in the background. This is one of the best wedding ceremony views in Newport (in my professional opinion)! The little ringbearers made quite the entrance, the younger one crying in a red wagon. So cute! Then the bride’s parents walked her down the aisle. The ceremony was touching and funny at times.
Lighthouse Wedding Photos
After the ceremony, we jumped in a golf cart and headed out to the Lighthouse for wedding photos. It was SUPER windy, so we took a few windblown photos and headed back to the pergola for family photos.
Tented Wedding Reception in Newport
When we returned from taking photos, guests were still mingling out on the lawn drinking cocktails. Shortly after they were herded into the tent for the reception. I just love the lighting in the permanent Sperry tent. They call it market lighting and it makes for a beautiful shimmery background for photos. The couple laughed hysterically during the speeches and their cake-cutting. They each shared an emotional dance with their parent. THEN the band took it up a notch and EVERYONE was on the dance floor! I took so many fun dancing photos. It was a great time had by all at this wedding!
