Summer Seaside Wedding in Newport
Bridal Prep in the Island House
We got the most beautiful late summer day for Charles and Victoria’s seaside wedding at Belle Mer in Newport. My first stop was the Island house where the bride and her maids were getting their hair and makeup done. I was very drawn to her gorgeous dress that was hanging by a large window with boats going by outside. A quintessential Newport view! Just before the ceremony was to begin, we headed over to the bridal suite. There was beautiful light golden light streaming in the window which was perfect for a few bridal portraits.
Seaside Wedding Ceremony
Golden hour was just setting in as the bride and her dad walked down the aisle for the seaside wedding ceremony. I loved watching the groom look so lovingly at his bride. The couple even exchanged sips of wine during the ceremony.
Newport Wedding Photos
After they said “I do” I let them have a few minutes to themselves. It was so beautiful, with the setting sun and the Newport Bridge behind them. Then we took some quick portraits as the sunset was fading, ending with a night wedding photo of the couple in front of the Newport Bridge. I think the unrivaled view is one of the best parts of having a seaside wedding in Newport.
Summer Seaside Wedding Reception
Then it was time for us to head inside for the reception. The father of the bride was so emotional and hilarious. I noticed even the bride was amazed at his dancing during their father-daughter dance. After dinner, there was a raucous dance party. The groom even stripped down in a performance of Mr. Roboto. I got the sense he had done this many times before. What a fun night for an equally fun couple!
