Block Island Wedding
The most beautiful Block Island wedding happened last month amidst a global pandemic. And you know what, it didn’t matter in the slightest because Keith and Eileen’s boat on Block Island was the perfect location for their seven-person elopement. I have to say, I love photographing these micro weddings!
Block Island Wedding Prep
I took the Block Island ferry over in the morning and went to the condo where the bride was getting ready for the wedding. She had her sister, future daughter, and future sister-in-law there to help her.
Meanwhile, her fiance got ready on their boat the Rebecca Lynn that was docked at Champlin’s Marina. His brother and future brother-in-law joined him there to wait for the women to arrive.
Wedding Procession at Champlin’s Marina
The groom wanted to watch his bride walk down the main dock at Champlin’s Marina before she boarded for the wedding. He stayed up on the bridge so he could only get a faraway peek before the ceremony. His daughter Rebecca had warned everyone ahead of time that her father would tear up for this and that’s exactly what happened!
Boat Wedding
Once the bride was on board, we drove out into the Great Salt Pond and threw anchor near the Coast Guard station. Then everyone made their way to the bow for the ceremony. It was a really special atmosphere with the salty sea air and the sounds of the ocean as the backdrop to the wedding.
Another special moment was during the bride’s vows where she spoke directly to her daughter-to-be.
Block Island Wedding Photos
After they said “I do” everyone hung out on the back of the boat and had a champagne toast. Then we headed over to Crescent Beach to do some formal wedding photos. We then tried to go to Southeast Light, but the fog had rolled in and you could barely see the lighthouse.
Sullivan House Block Island Wedding Reception
The wedding day ended at Sullivan House where the couple was having a small wedding reception dinner. But first, we did some photos on the lawn overlooking the marina where they had earlier tied the knot!
