Winter Wedding in Newport RI

Maggie and Abe’s winter wedding in Newport, RI was a long time coming. Originally scheduled for December 2020, it had to be postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Despite the challenges, they decided to have a small wedding that year at Queen Anne’s Loft. They held out patiently until December 2021 for their big wedding at OceanCliff. Since they were already married, the day was relaxed and so much fun.

Wedding Prep

The day kicked off with both Maggie and Abe getting ready for their winter wedding in separate rooms of the mansion. Each had a chosen group of friends to assist, adding to the relaxed atmosphere. Everyone enjoyed a laid-back time, sipping champagne, and ensuring every wedding detail was just perfect.

Winter Wedding Photos in Newport, RI

They opted for a quick and informal first look, and then we ventured outside to capture some stunning winter wedding photos against the backdrop of the beautiful mansion. Despite the occasional rain and the fact that it wasn’t cold for December, we managed to capture some wonderful moments.

Wedding Ceremony

Following the photos, it was time for the wedding ceremony in the grand ballroom, featuring a wall of windows with a breathtaking view of Narragansett Bay and the Newport Bridge. As it was a winter wedding, the sun had already set, creating a magical ambiance with the blue hour and warm lighting in the ballroom, adding an intimate touch to the ceremony.

Night Winter Wedding Photos

Following the ceremony, the couple sneaked away for a few precious minutes to capture some night wedding photos outside the mansion. The holiday light decorations, the gentle rain, and the cold weather all came together to create truly stunning backlit portraits.

Winter Wedding Reception in Newport RI

Now, all that remained was to enjoy the party! Following a quick wardrobe change, they were introduced and shared a heartfelt first dance. The festivities continued with a series of hilarious speeches, an epic hora, and a lively dance floor that included the drinking game Thunderstruck, played along with the song by the same name by AC/DC.
