Wrights Mill Farm Wedding
Jackie and Demetre held their wedding at Wrights Mill Farm on a beautiful day in early September. I had never met the couple OR worked at this venue, so I went in a bit blind. Let’s just say I was quite happy with how the day turned out!
Getting Ready in Norwich, CT
The bride did her initial getting ready at a hotel in Norwich, CT. It was a really fun atmosphere with spontaneous dancing and an adorable flower girl. Then we headed out to the woods of Canterbury, CT to Wrights Mill Farm for the wedding.
Wedding Prep at Wrights Mill Farm
The bride and her crew did their final touches inside the historic house at Wrights Mill Farm. She put on her dress, that was actually a modified version of the dress her mother wore when marrying her father! She had a few moments of quiet reflection as the nerves set in before the wedding ceremony. Then we even had some time to take a few photos across the street at the wooden silo.
Wedding Ceremony at Wrights Mill Farm
The wedding ceremony took place in a wooded clearing by a waterfall at Wrights Mill Farm. The groom had the best reaction, tearing up as he saw his bride walking down the aisle. There were so many emotions between the two of them throughout the entire ceremony. It was beautiful to watch.
Wedding Photos at Wrights Mill Farm
We took formal wedding photos at several spots around Wrights Mill Farm. First we went to the waterfall, and then to the old mill on the reflecting pond. The we took more photos in front of the silo before finishing up at the beautiful covered bridge. There is no shortage of stunning locations for photos at this Connecticut farm venue!
Wedding Reception at Wrights Mill Farm
The wedding reception took place under the pavilion at Wrights Mill Farm. The couple shared an emotional first dance, laughed at their speeches, and did some traditional greek wedding dances.
They even did a bouquet and garter toss, which are often left out of weddings these days.
Then they danced the night away with dollar bills and glow sticks flying everywhere. It was such a good dance party, even the staff at Wrights Mill Farm joined in!
The night finished with a sparkler exit.
