Sessions

Thirteen years photographing families has taught me a lot. The thing I keep coming back to: the best images come from letting people forget they’re being photographed. The sessions below are built around that.

Family Session — $850

One hour. Your immediate family. Up to two locations. Pets welcome and encouraged.

What’s included:
A full hour of unhurried photographing, with prompts and play to keep things easy
50+ professionally edited high-resolution images, delivered in your private online gallery
Two-week turnaround
Print release for personal use
Prints, canvases, and wall art available à la carte through the gallery shop

Best for: annual family photos, holiday card season, “we haven’t done this in three years, and the kids look different now.”

Extended Family Session — $1,000

Seventy minutes. Multi-generational and multi-household. Grandparents, siblings’ families, the whole gathering.

What’s included:
Everything in a Family Session
Extended time for the logistics of a bigger group
60+ professionally edited high-resolution images

A note on bigger groups: with more people, the session leans more toward portrait-style groupings and less toward play.

Best for: when grandparents are visiting from out of town, milestone gatherings, the rare week everyone’s in the same place.

Portrait Session — $850

One hour. Same price as a Family Session, different focus.
Use this for:

Maternity, before everything changes, while you’re still carrying them
Lifestyle newborns, at home, in your own light, in the first weeks
Senior portraits for the high schooler in the family
Couples, whether the wedding’s coming up or it’s just been too long since you were both in the frame
Individual portraits for the parent who’s always behind the camera, or for a milestone birthday, or just because

Everything that’s included in a Family Session is included here: a full hour, two locations, 50+ edited images, two-week delivery, gallery, print release.

If you’re not sure which category you fit, just ask. The answer is almost always “yes, I can photograph that.”

In-Home Session — $1,800

Three to four hours in your natural habitat. Documentary style. No posing, no outfit changes, no agenda.

This is the session for the family who wants to capture real life: bath time, cutting flowers in the garden, fort building, story time, a pillow fight, the kid laughing so hard milk comes out of their nose. I’m there for the morning or the afternoon, coffee, breakfast, whatever you’d be doing anyway. You forget I’m there by hour two. That’s when the best images happen.

What’s included:
Three to four hours of in-home documentary photography
100+ professionally edited high-resolution images
Three-week turnaround
Private online gallery, print release

Best for: capturing a season of family life that won’t last. The first year with a new baby, the stretch before the kids start school, a long weekend everyone’s actually home, or a week away you don’t want to forget.

Coming Back

Two ways to make this a habit.

Book a yearly session. Come back within eighteen months of your last session, and the 2nd one is $100 off.
Book twice a year. Come back within twelve months of your last session, and the 2nd one is $150 off.

A few things worth knowing

  • About the price. The session price is the only thing you’re committing to. Your curated high-resolution images come with a print release, so you can download them and print anywhere you’d like, at home or through your own lab. If you’d rather not deal with that, your gallery has a print shop offering prints, canvases, and wall art à la carte. No ordering appointment, no sales pitch, no minimum.
  • About locations. I split my time between Rhode Island and the Outer Cape (Wellfleet, Truro, Eastham, Provincetown) during the warmer months. Travel within about thirty minutes of either is built into the price. Farther than that, reach out and we’ll work it out together. I’m happy to travel for the right project.
  • About weather. New England is what it is. Sessions can be rescheduled due to inclement weather.
  • About camera-shy families. Most people who hire me think they’re awkward on camera. They almost never are. I have prompts and games that work on the most reluctant kid, and I never make anyone perform. If your six-year-old needs ten minutes of running around before she’ll look in my direction, that’s fine. We have an hour. We’ll get there.
  • About what to wear. Keep it simple and comfortable. No need to match. I’m happy to talk through options with you once we’ve booked.
  • About booking. A 50% retainer holds the date. The balance is due the week of the session. Weekend dates book out a few months in advance; weekday evenings can usually be found within a few weeks’ notice.
