Laugh More. Pose Less.

As anyone who takes Rhode Island family photos knows, this spring has been a tough one. We’ve had so many rainy days, it’s been hard to find any time for outdoor photo sessions! Instead, I’ve been holed up in the house, taking photos of my son Cameron. I love in-home photo sessions anyway. It’s nice that you can do a day in the life family session any time of year in any weather conditions. Plus I love the everyday moments – reading a book with mom, bath time, PAJAMAS! I’ve come to realize that this stage of life goes by so fast.

My son’s new favorite hobby is opening and closing doors. He could do it for HOURS, no joke. Recently he discovered the door to our liquor cabinet…

When he did this I was really torn. Do I scoop him up and get him out of there, or do I take the photo? Clearly I decided on the latter, although I did have to grab him before he smashed the bottle of Bacardi on the ground.

During Easter weekend this year, we got just a few hours of no rain that we took advantage of by playing outside with Dad. Then just as it came, it was gone again.

After Easter, the beautiful Japanese Cherry tree in our yard started to bloom but it was a solid two weeks before the weather was nice enough to go outside and enjoy it. If you recall from our Tulip excursion, Cam LOVES flowers so taking him out to check out the cherry tree was a lot of fun.

And we FINALLY got a chance to play outside with his new Little Tykes Cozy Coupe and Swing!

So that’s what’s been going on over here. I’m trying to savor these everyday memories with my son and take some photos here and there. Wedding season is ramping up, and this coming weekend looks like it might actually be a nice one. Stay tuned.
